Our Mission

We provide a support system for families who home educate, based on liberation and cultural studies of the African Diaspora and Indigenous peoples of color.

Cultural Roots believes when children are provided opportunities to learn about their own cultures they are able to develop an appreciation for humanity, and, with increased exposure, learn that differences equate with normalcy and pride.

THOUSANDS Raised

Cultural Roots Cooperative has raised well over 5000 dollars for various community support efforts. Efforts have included support for a Black history museum, diverse books for a little free library, and COVID support for the Maasai Tribe of Africa.

Years Serving communities

Our efforts have supported families in need of greater representation in the homeschool community as well as community outreach organizations whose missions and values mirror our own.

Our founder consistently shares the knowledge she has gained in developing this co-op to the homeschool community and beyond.

OVER 100 FAMILIES Impacted

Our impact on families has stretched well beyond the classes we offer directly to co-op members. On several occasions we have opened our events to members of the greater community so they may have access to some of the invaluable resources we have found. We are continuously expanding this kind of outreach with new events and a diverse, curated bookstore.
